School visits

I am very happy to visit primary schools (Key Stage 2) and secondary schools (Year 7).

I can:

  • read from my books
  • talk about how I started out and how I develop my ideas, bringing along material such as original notebooks, annotated drafts and proof copies
  • take a question and answer session
  • talk about my day-to-day life as a writer
  • explain how I found my agent and publisher
  • share useful advice
  • direct creative writing workshops, to include story-starting exercises, techniques to engage the reader and tips for believable characters and strong action. By the end of the session, you should come away with the germ of a story which can be developed later.

I can also tailor the above for library visits and bookshops.

Please contact me if you’d like to speak to me and arrange a visit: I am very flexible and can work around your requirements. I look forward to hearing from you.
