Hi Barney, Very sorry to have missed you at Riverside the other day, and hope you are feeling better now. My tips would be to keep putting one word in front of the other (it really is the only way!), to plan your story’s structure before you start writing and to see in your mind’s eye the action you are writing about. Good luck!

Hi again William, Glad you got the right story in the end. I did another Able Writers’ Day in Manchester today and told all the students I met about your fabulous infinity egg story! They thought it was very cool.

  6. Emily says:

Hi you came to my school and I loved it! You are such an inspiration and I want to be like you when I grow up. I have read all of your books and I even got a signed copy. Tell William I loved his idea of an infinity egg. I hoped you liked my story. I think you did because you read it out to everyone (my teachers loved it) but it was a bit scary because everyone was staring at me but I better get used to that if I want to be like you when I’m older. Please reply to my comment. From Emily

    PS. You are so cool

Hi Gemma, What a lovely message – thank you! So glad you enjoyed the day. I’m working on a new book at the moment, but in the meantime I hope you enjoy reading the four that are already published. x

  13. Dear Harriet,
On behalf of Lauren, Violet, Emily and myself of Nailsworth School, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the super session at Gastrells school today. Your enthusiasm and patience was inspiring and motivating and made me want to help youngsters! Seeing their faces when you read with expression was priceless. Lauren is very much looking forward to reading the book and I have already summarised the day, along with photos to the headmaster and the class teachers. Thank you once again and hope you had a safe journey home. Kind regards, Natalie Wooldridge on behalf of Nailsworth Primary School.

  14. harriet43 says:

Hi Natalie, Thank you for your lovely message and for being such a support to the children you accompanied today. I was so impressed with the whole group: for such young children they were so attentive and willing to learn. They REALLY got somewhere by the end of the day. Hope Lauren enjoys EXIT 43: do encourage her to stay in touch via the website. Many thanks again for your great input. Very best wishes,
    Harriet
